Brief Background on the Institute:

The school is located at a distance of 75 km from the Dzongkhag head quarter and 47 from Chuzom (confluence). The school was established in 1962 as primary school by a local Tsip named Rinchen Gyeltshen under the command of His Majesty, the late king Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. The school began with 20 students by an inexperienced single teacher. It was upgraded to lower secondary school in 2002. Mr. Dorji Dukpa was leader in-charge of the school when it got upgraded to lower secondary school. During Mr. D.K Ghalley’s tenure the school was further upgraded to Middle Secondary School in 2011 as the need was felt by the community as well as the ever escalating of students’ enrollment in the school.
